In dry and beautiful January fills cellars and barrels.
The winter was never so soft in this new year. Temperatures deserving of the spring clearly displayed, disordering obviously Mother Nature. Buds are henceforth at the mercy of the slightest jelly. Let us hope that our saying will keep its promises quite as our dear candidates for the presidential election …
Looking forward to the big political resolutions, the nature takes the lead. Since a few years, the wine growers have to make their works in the vineyard earlier and earlier. The global warming is in question. But the initiatives to decrease greenhouse gas emissions cannot slow down significantly the increase of the temperature. The vine and its vegetative cycle underline irreparably this evolution.
Grapes benefit from a period of maturation more and more warm, longer and longer. It is a chance of a lifetime for the rate of sugar but a total questioning for the identity of wines. The Burgundian soil will soon have a Mediterranean profile with a rate of upper alcohol and the lower acidities, unless a complete reorganization of the cultural practices. The adaptation for that butterfly purpose seems to be the only solution to protect the authenticity of our soils. In a more general way, a plan of adaptation to the climate change was set up in the European ladder. It aims at fighting against this evolution by saving and by optimizing the use of the water, by strengthening the monitoring systems of the emergent diseases (allergies), by adapting the town and country planning policy, by preventing forest fires. It would have been able to integrate the control of our wastes in particular into the nuclear level.
On the site of Fukushima, the radiological emergency situation seems ended to begin now the phase of dismantling which will last 30 years. The ASN (Authority of Nuclear Safety) will support Japan in its reform of the system of control of the nuclear safety. That is it of the control of the other sites? Further to an analysis of subterranean waters of the nuclear power plant of Civaux (Vienna), EDF is summoned to restore the waterproofness of the reservoirs of storing of the effluents of this site which pour at present in Vienna more of 67 times the tolerated dose of Tritium … We cannot do without the nuclear power overnight but our planet would not should pass there. The last incidents were supposed to strengthen the conditions of exploitation of the nuclear power. It is on the right track but the road is still long …
